I like my coffee taupe not beige; you got a problem with that?

When my segment of the reality TV show, All On The Line, with Joe Zee aired last month, I certainly did not think the producers would open the show with me discussing my preference for the color of my morning coffee with an intern.  Yes, I am very particular about how I like my coffee---Aren’t we all?  After all, a cup of coffee does serve as my only breakfast nourishment, so I have to get this right.

Last week, I was at a restaurant with friends and the waiter asked me if I would get him fired if he got my coffee color wrong.  I laughed so hard I nearly fell off my chair.

Today, a friend forwarded me a link to the Tom & Lorenzo blog post (http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/2011/12/aotl-aysha-saeed.html )in which the shade of my coffee seemed to take second place only to the fight for the Republican nomination.

Tom & Lorenzo felt my taupe coffee preference, among my other “demanding” ways were so over the top that they compared me to Miranda Priestly of The Devil Wears Prada. Should I take that as a compliment?  Weisberger didn’t mean it as such; Meryl didn’t play her as such, me?  Sure, why not.

Clearly, my coffee preference has gotten people in a tizzy, so I thought it only right I share with you some more of my coffee must-haves…..Yes, taupe the color must be, but I don’t stop there.  Oh no!  I also sip my morning coffee through a skinny red straw - so my lip gloss doesn’t get messy.  And I take three sugar lumps; I’ve tried the fancy, expensive sugars or their substitutes, but can’t tell the difference, so I stick to the ordinary.  I know you are shocked, Aysha liking something ordinary?

So if execs from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts are reading my blog (hey, you never know), call me.  Let’s talk business…..clearly I am well suited to be your next spokesperson

Your episode was amazing and that coffee scene was hilarious. You are the only woman I know that can make coffee interesting. Looking forward to your next post.

Hysterical! Variations in color can make or break you in fashion!
